No Magic in These Puffs

Teagan had been looking forward to her Aunt Michelle's visit at the end of March. "I love my parents dearly," Teagan noted, "but let's face it, I'm not going to learn street smarts or pop culture from them."

After discussing various piercing options with her Aunt, Teagan noticed the non-pureed food in front of her and asked: "Are you going to eat that?"

"Yes," Aunt Michelle replied, "but I'll give you a snack when I'm done eating."

Puffs - they didn't even look like what her Aunt ate. With skepticism, Teagan tentatively grabbed one and slowly brought it to her mouth.

She managed to unstick the thing from her fingers only to get it stuck on her lips.

As that Puff dissolved in her mouth, Teagan learned with horror that it takes 75 of those things to equal 1 serving. "I think I'm gonna need a drink."

Thankfully her Dad's special glass appeared and she drank quickly, attempting to drown the memory of that Puff.

"Um, Aunt Michelle, that's just water..."

Getting a Bite to Eat

In the midst of her busy schedule, Teagan found a quiet moment in mid-March for a bite to eat.

Before long, Chip stopped over to see what was on the menu. Teagan, however, was not amused with the company.

"You're ruining my moment," Teagan remarked. "Go get your own food."

Yet Chip, as if he didn't understand, sat down to watch her eat - bite by bite. "Seriously, I can understand why some people eat cats."

All Tired Out

In early March, Teagan's Grandma and Grandpa Nyman came to visit.

Teagan was excited to get in a little knitting time with Grandma before the whole gang headed over to her Great-grandma's house.

Great-grandma Lynn told Teagan, "I have a special Easter surprise for you!"

As soon as her Great-uncle Michael turned on the singing and hopping bunny, Teagan was eager to get her hands on it.

Before long sleepiness caught up to her, but she didn't mind - she got to sleep on Great-grandma's fuzzy bed. However, when she awoke she struggled to shake off her drowsiness and she knew that her Grandpa Nyman wouldn't allow her to have any coffee (see post: No Coffee for You).

Grandpa had another means of waking her up - adrenaline. "Do it again, Grandpa!"

Soon after the gang returned home, Teagan noticed that her Grandpa was all tired out too. "He sure could use a little of that adrenaline," she noted.

"That's okay - more bunny time for me!"

Mittens in Spring?

"I was pretty excited about our walk until my Mom told me that I had to wear these mittens. It's springtime, why should anyone have to wear mittens?"

"She tried to make some point about living in Minnesota. I told her that they detracted from my cow slippers, but she wouldn't budge."

" 'Here', I said, 'if it's so cold, you wear them.' "

Pulling Weeds

"Daddy has been busy lately getting the gardens ready for planting, so I thought I would help him with some of the weeding."

"In the midst of weeding, I took a moment to admire the buds on our two apple trees. Mmm... apple sauce!"

"The strawberries were also full of blooms, but Mommy says I have to wait until I'm older - maybe in the fall."

"Well, back to weeding... They're the green ones, right?"
