Natalia's Baptism

On Sunday, September 27th, Dan and Andrea became the proud Godparents of Natalia Copa (see post: Keeping up with the Copas).

Natalia is immersed in the baptismal waters three times: in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Her Godfather Dan stands by with a towel to receive her.

After the baptism, Natalia is carried by her Godparents around the Gospel and the baptismal waters three times. Their procession is lead by the cross and is followed by the children in the church. (For more information on the Orthodox baptismal liturgy, see post: Baptized into Christ.)

Dan and Andrea are honored to have this connection with the Copa family and Teagan is excited to have a new God-sister. So where was Teagan during the baptismal liturgy? Happily in the arms of her Godmother Barb.

From Norway with Love

Alexandra and Cecilie finished the care package for their cousin Teagan, "She's really gonna like this."

Teagan eagerly received the box from her cousins in Norway and, with a few sniffs, Chip verified that the contents were safe. Teagan was free to tear into the box (with some help).

"This is great! I'll get a lot of use out of it this winter... but maybe after hunting season."

Big Decisions

I can't help it, fussiness happens. It began as a typical day where I test the boundaries of my Mom's patience. I knew I was close because Mom was talking about me on the phone with Jodi. She gave Mom an idea and suddenly Mom ran upstairs and returned with the 'UltraSaucer'.

Now I have to admit that this looked very cool and I was quite excited when Mom put me in it. But then it hit me, if I show too much enthusiasm I risk loosing out on some Mom-time. Hmm, how should I play this? I know, I'll act fussy until Mom puts me in the saucer. Of course, I'll have to maintain a little fussiness to maximize Mom's full attention while I play with all those gadgets. This could work...

I've Been a Busy Girl

It's been a lot work training in my parents, but I think I am starting to see some of the benefits of my efforts. I have two new God-sisters (a means of extending the family without having to share my domain), I traveled to Seattle so my extended family could have a chance to meet me (my Aunt Michelle and Uncle Jeff happened to get married while I was there), and I've toughed up my image with a little road rash (to let everyone know I mean business). I'll make sure Dad posts 2 to 3 entries a week so we can get up to date. So stay tuned and keep those comments coming.
