Finally Four (Months)

Teagan braved the cold and snowy weather this morning for her 4 month check-up, although she was too nervous to be concerned about weather. She hadn't really prepared for the exam, "What if I'm not ready?"

First came the measurements. Teagan gave her best smile hoping to distract the nurse as she marked her head. Then she kicked her legs against the paper beneath her making as much noise as possible, but the nurse merely smiled back as she made the second mark. Teagan held her breathe as the nurse pulled out the measuring tape... 24 inches! That's a full 6 since she was born. "Maybe I can out grow my parents."

Teagan listened as the nursed asked her Mom and Dad to prep her for the scale. In a moment of panic, Teagan realized that she hadn't even made an attempt to load her diaper. Contemplating what course of action she might take, she overheard the nurse say the diaper would have to come off too. As her Mom set her on the scale Teagan tried to think heavy thoughts, but before any came to mind the nurse called out, "13 pounds!" Had she really gained three pounds since her last visit? (See post: Double Time)

Finally Teagan watched with dismay as her parents both received their H1N1 shots, "What, no tears?" She would have to show them how it's done as she received her three shots...
